BC Garn's Bio Shetland is an organic, woolen-spun fingering-to-sport weight yarn that combines the texture and lightness characteristic of the Shetland breed, but with a bit more softness than more traditional versions. It is grippy and lofty, with a 2-ply construction that offers both drape and stability, and blooms beautifully after washing. An excellent choice for colourwork and airy openwork like lace, it will give even the simplest projects the a timeless artisanal look.
Note: We are in the process of replacing Queensland Collection Shetland Lite with this yarn. We will be phasing-in colours of Bio Shetland gradually, as we sell our remaining stock of Shetland Lite. The yarns are very similar, but not identical: BC Garn Bio Shetland is very slightly thicker. They are, however, close enough to be used in the same project. If combining them in colourwork, we recommend holding the Sheltand Lite in the lower/left hand/dominant position to compensate for the difference.
