The aran-weight version of Jody Long's excellent tweedy blend is every bit as beautiful and luxuriously soft as the double-knitting weight original, plus has an extra bit of bounce for creating standout cables and textures. This is due to its double-plied "cabled" structure, built from two plies, each of which is itself a two-ply yarn. Each shade is dappled with subtly contrasting flecks which add dimension to the finished fabric without overshadowing textural stitches or detracting from colourwork.
Alba knits up into a remarkably soft, light and drapey fabric, which blooms beautifully with wear.
